“Emmeline’s Tearoom” is to be found in a quiet corner of Abergavenny just off the main pedestrian precinct. Think of Sherlock Holmes if you are unsure where to find us and ask for Baker Street, not 221B, but the Old Police Station!
Why:
“Emmeline’s” is a family affair. After many exciting years running an extremely busy restaurant it was time to make a change, choosing a lifestyle that offers more sociable hours conducive to raising a family. A year of searching ended when the redundant police station was discovered in this friendly town.
What:
Much inspiration came from our families’ Norwegian matriarch who’s unique, light, fat-free, fruit-layered sponges proved such a huge success at her “Potting Shed” in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland.
There may well have been lots of freshly whipped cream involved!
At Emmeline’s we maintain her ethos of serving only freshly made products of the best quality carefully created by ourselves on the premises..
Here you may enjoy an interesting selection of genuinely home-made, toasties, sandwiches, soups, filled baked potatoes and of course wonderful cakes.
Hot beverages include Lavazza coffee, a varied selection of teas and superb hot chocolates. Our eggs are from a local supplier, delicious bread comes hot from St Mary’s Bakery in Brecon.
Our menu does include a selection of gluten-free items.
Whole cakes, as offered in our tearoom, may be made to order. For busy folk ‘on the move’ takeaway snacks and drinks are available.
Who:
All and sundry are welcome. Mobility scooters and prams may gain easy access. As this is a family business the arrival of families with ‘delightful’ offspring hold few surprises and are most welcome.
Events; the venue is available for hire.
A knitting group, writing group, wine tasting society amongst others have enjoyed the use of our premises for their ‘get-togethers’.
